Mythic Garment Making Textile Workshop
4 Day Mythic Garment Making Textile Workshop:
Meets 4 Mondays: June 2, June 9, June 16th, June 23rd @ 5:30p-6p
1 month of fabrication/ assembly.
Held in person at my Home Studio in Virgil Village, CA.
We will explore the concept of personal mythos and mythological stories in context to creating a story concept for our very Mythic Garment Design and explorations in the art of hand sewing using creative stitches and paneling along with color and special elements in design. In this playful and expressive 4 day workshop students will also be encourage to illustrate their own story-inspired Mythic Garment wearable textile piece using fabric safe pens, acrylic paint, portable airbrush paint, appliqué, embroidery and markers.
Each participant will create a one-of-a-kind wearable artwork based on a personal story, dream, or imaginative narrative. Basic drawing techniques will be covered, character development and layout composition— no experience necessary. Ages 18 and up. Bring your selected fabrics, garments you wish to to modify, odd and ends!, whatever you envision for your piece of wearable art!
Supply list and material needs sent upon registration. Workshop is non-refundable. All levels, skillsets are welcome, no previous experience with hand-sewing is necessary! If you’ve ever wanted to make a magical cape for your Art Practice or a special top, jumpsuit, or dress/ skirt that would be all your own… Then this is the class for you (;
