Join me as we explore the timeless folk art of Hook Punching (using yarn and monk’s cloth) to create imaginative textural Fiber Art! We will dive into this medium engaging in experimental shapes or design of your choice from start to finish using un-automated Hookpunch needle hand-tool! We will finish with a beautiful project that is presented to the class and kept for student’s Artist portfolio or to share/ keep as personal project.
This is a fine-arts based class that honors the traditional Folk Art Medium of Hook-Punching using Monk’s Cloth to create textiles for a variety of purposes or for decorative use. For our sessions we will be working with an unmounted basic wooden square frame or plastic hoop frame and Hook-punch needle. For beginner’s smaller sized frames are preferable. All skillsets are welcome! Participants are to purchase materials separately and will be sent a materials list upon registration and links to supply sources.
We will finish with a beautiful project that is to be presented to the class and kept for student’s Artist portfolio or to share/ keep as personal project.
